Election Results

Well, Jefferson County did its part. Votes are still being counted, challenged, and cured, but it appears that our turnout of 87.5% is the highest of any county in Washington.

INITIATIVES

  • Initiative 2109 was defeated so we retain a capital gains excise tax on large trading profits and maintain funding for early childhood education.

  • Initiative 2117 was defeated so we have protected the Climate Commitment Act.

  • Initiative 2124 was defeated so the State's public insurance program providing long-term care benefits is preserved.

  • Initiative 2066 did pass; this affects natural gas and does not directly affect the Olympic Peninsula. Propane supply and use are not affected by Initiative 2066.
