JCD Endorsements for Nov. 8

150 150

2022 candidates endorsed so far by JeffCo Democrats

The Jefferson County Democrats endorsed the candidates shown in this chart for the Aug. 2 primary election. Our endorsed candidates had a good night in the primary election. And the results suggest continued winning strength for the Nov. 8 general election.

JCD members will be considering endorsements for some other positions in late September. Please return to our website or Facebook page to learn more about those endorsements.

In the primary election, Jefferson County Commissioner Greg Brotherton received a resounding 56% of the votes in the 3rd District. Greg’s Republican opponent, recently retired (and rich) from the pharmaceutical industry, Marcia Kelbon, is new to Jefferson County.

Greg’s decisive win in the most conservative county district sets him up for an even stronger win this fall when the contest is countywide. JCD’s other endorsed candidates for county positions had no opponents in the primary and have no opponents in the general.

State Reps. Mike Chapman and Steve Tharinger are also in good shape heading into the general election. Democrats received 60% of the votes and majorities in each of the three counties of the 24th LD.

U.S. Rep. Derek Kilmer received 53% of the votes in the 6th Congressional District. He will face Republican Elizabeth Krieselmaier, who received just 27% of the votes in a crowded Republican field.

U.S. Sen. Patty Murray received 54% of the statewide vote and will face Republican Tiffany Smiley, as expected.

Let's get together outdoors!

Peninsula Democrats are holding a Picnic and Rally in Sequim, and we're inviting all our friends to spend some time together, listen to the music of Good Trouble, and hear from our speakers.

We'll gather at Carrie Blake Park on Sunday, July 24, at 1 p.m. Use the Fir Street entrance. Bring your own picnic and chairs.
Jefferson, Clallam, and Grays Harbor Democrats are the hosts, and we are inviting candidates and members of Indivisible groups, Sequim Voices for Health and Healing, and other allies to come enjoy some time together and hear from our speakers.
We will do some doorbelling that morning on behalf of legislative candidates Mike Chapman and Steve Tharinger.
If you would like to help with doorbelling, click on the link below. Also use this link if you'd like to help with doorbelling, phoning, or signs in the future. You can ask for signs, too.
