The Washington State Democratic Party is inviting comments about this choice. Comments may be made from now until April 4 at this website:
The State Democratic party needs input from its members on the process of delegate selection for the next National Convention. In the past we’ve had a mix of caucuses that count and a primary that doesn’t.
Now that the State legislature has passed a bill that brings the Primary parameters into line with both the State party and DNC nationally we need to help the State party decide where we stand. It is an issue that should not divide us even though there are strong feelings behind both processes. Please study the issue and make your feelings known.
DELEGATE SELECTION OPTIONS: The State Party has drafted two delegate selection and affirmative action plans (DSAAP) one to be used if a Primary is selected and another if Precinct Caucuses are chosen. Both of these plans are available for review at the above mentioned weblink.
Our primary season is shaping up to be historical both in candidate numbers and critical issue differences. We encourage you to get involved now!
NOTE: Jefferson County Democrats have a General Membership Meeting on March 11, during which this issue will be discussed. Click on this link for meeting details: https://jeffcodemocrats.com/calendar/
