Bob Ferguson at JCD’s 23rd Annual Fish Feast!

150 150

We welcomed Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson as our keynote speaker. Bob's work fighting the current administration's travel ban put him front and center as a hero for humane immigration policies and fair treatment under the law.

Also attending were Congressman Derek Kilmer, State Senator Kevin Van de Wege, State Representatives Steve Tharinger and Mike Chapman, Washington State Democrats Chair Tina Podlodowski, and many of our local elected representatives.

Delicious food was served: salmon from Key City Fish barbecued by Larry Dennison, shellfish courtesy of Taylor Shellfish, PT Brewing Co’s best beers, Pane d’Amore rolls, Greens & Veggies from local farms, Wine from the Wine Cellar, and scrumptious cake!

Thank you to all volunteers! https://www.thenation.com/article/meet-bob-ferguson-the-washington-state-attorney-general-who-shut-down-trumps-muslim-ban/

Congratulations to Marty Gilmore, our newly elected chair for 2017-2018!
Marty's a great sport, and we have to have some lighthearted moments even in dark times. So here he's pictured "spokesmodeling" WA Dems Resistance hat and scarf, alongside Ryan Mc Allister and Tina Podlodowski.

Candidate Questionnaires – Non-Partisan Races – Hospital Commissioner

150 150

Explanatory Note: In non-partisan races, JCD usually does not offer endorsements. However, we want to offer our members as well as other interested citizens the opportunity to review the experience and qualifications of candidates who want to serve on our boards and commissions. Below are responses received from candidates for Hospital Commissioner, Position 1. Some of these questions are more of a “political philosophy” nature, because boards and commissions are often a pipeline to higher office. These surveys were produced under the direction of JCD's Political Action Committee. We hope you find them useful as you prepare your ballot.
