State Committee Representative – Jefferson County, was elected today as 6th Congressional District Representative to the Washington State Democrats Executive Board.
Washington’s 6th Congressional District encompasses the Olympic Peninsula, most of the Kitsap Peninsula, and most of the city of Tacoma.
Claire will be an effective leader for our district because she has:
- Genuine affection for and knowledge about the 6th District’s working class roots.
- Ability to effectively mobilize and unite diverse people towards common goals.
- A strong work ethic, years of experience and commitment to follow through.

As Jefferson County’s State Committee Representative, Claire never missed a meeting in 10 years and she also attended Executive Committee meetings.
A proud Labor Caucus member for 10 years, Claire hails from the working class. Her heart is with working people. She has also attended the Small Business Caucus and Ag & Rural Caucus meetings as time allowed.
A PCO since 2003, in 2016 Claire’s precinct voted for Bernie Sanders by 78%. Claire herself won re-election by 78% by reaching out to everyone.
Healthcare is the number one issue facing the country and the 6th CD.
Claire travels the 6th CD as a psychologist serving the elderly – 500 miles a week on average. She serves her patients where they live in Port Townsend, Sequim, Port Angeles, Silverdale, Poulsbo and Port Orchard. All are insured through Medicare and Medicaid. Claire can fight for Medicare-for-All as a Medical Provider, a User and a Business Owner.
Claire has school loans and understands the drag of student loan debt.
She would bring her Medicare Know-How and advocacy for working people to the Executive Committee.
Jefferson County has had the 2nd or 3rd highest voter turnout in the State for years. Jefferson County will now have a seat at the Executive Board Table. Previous 6th Congressional District counties that have had the honor: Pierce, Mason, Kitsap, Mason, Grays Harbor.
